Segment #1: Red Cross looks at disaster assistance, blood shortage and the upcoming Heroes Breakfast. Guests are Janet Patterson and Ray Wiley.

  • Blood shortage, only a 3-day supply of blood. Problem brought about by the holidays as well as the federal government shutdown. Military and government employees are a big source of donors, and those offices were closed.
  • 7th Annual Heroes Breakfast is in the ballroom of MTSU's new Student Union Building. It is 7:30-9:00AM on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019. This year's honorees are Drs. Sherry and Russ Galloway. To get tickets or to inquire about sponsorships, contact Executive Director Kathy Ferrell at 615-893-4272.

Segment #2: What to do if you get catastrophic news. Rev. Dr. John A. Hinkle, Jr. (left photo), pastor of Murfreesboro's First Presbyterian Church, gives helpful advice.

The thing not to do is to build a wall around yourself and not tell anyone.

He also advises you to take a family member with you to doctor's appointments. Let someone else take notes and remember what the physician suggested.
