Middle Tennessee State University continues its "MTSU Promise Tour" to recruit potential transfer students with an upcoming visit to Nashville State Community College this week.

Following recent trips to other community college campuses, MTSU recruiters will travel to Nashville, Tennessee, Thursday, Feb. 7, to visit with prospective students at Nashville State, 120 White Bridge Road, meeting with them in the S Building (Student Services Center) lobby near the campus bookstore. MTSU staff visit from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The MTSU Promise is the university's commitment to make the transfer process as smooth as possible and, in some cases, signing special agreements with the community colleges to ensure clear pathways.

University recruiters and other staff have been visiting community colleges across the state in order to recruit students who will be graduating with associate degrees and want to continue their higher education at MTSU.

At the stops, MTSU staff can help students:

• Apply for admission to MTSU at mtsu.edu/applynow
• Learn more about the Tennessee Transfer Pathways and other programs to help students transfer successfully
• Find out about scholarship opportunities
• Get an MTSU ID Card if students are already admitted

'We are hosting these events on the community college campuses in an attempt to bring MTSU to the students," said Mark Murphy, coordinator of enrollment in the Office of Admissions.

Admissions representatives will be available to answer questions and discuss the transferring process, Murphy added.

MTSU, the No. 1 choice of transfer students, has a Feb. 15 deadline for the transfer guaranteed scholarship -- $3,000 per year for those who meet qualifications.
