Over $43,000 was raised for local nonprofit Special Kids in the organization's 16th Annual Golf Classic presented by Nissan on Thursday, May 7, at Indian Hills Golf Course in Murfreesboro.
The annual event hosted 44 teams with over 170 players participating to help children with special needs in middle Tennessee. The golf scramble held a morning tournament that began with breakfast provided by Smoothie King, Food Lion and Lewis Bakeries. The Cooke Realty team with Greg Cook, Prentiss Holt, Dave Webber, and Mike Schrader won the morning round.
Lunch was provided for all participants from Slick Pig BBQ and HCA with drinks provided by Newk's Eatery. Team Jasey took the top title for the afternoon tournament and consisted of Jason Miller, Eric Smith, Roger Farmer, and Bradley Farmer.
Nissan presented the tournament for the fifth consecutive year, and Slick Pig stepped up as the lunch sponsor for the fourth year. Eagle sponsors included Metro Carpets, SEC, Inc., Tri-Start Title and Escrow, Aetna, Country Financial, Yates Services, FirstFleet, and Middle Tennessee Electric Customers Care. Birdie Sponsors included Craters and Freighters of Nashville and CRF Properties. Holes were sponsored by 13 other local businesses supporting the nonprofit.
