19-Year old Admits to Burglarizing Clinic for Prescription Pad in Murfreesboro

Murfreesboro Police were called to the Kroger Store Pharmacy on Memorial Boulevard after a man dropped off a forged prescription for Oxycodone. While on the scene, the suspect showed up at the drive through to pick the pills up.

Police quickly made contact with 19-year old Casey Dodson who was driving a BMW. Officers confirmed his identity and then asked about the prescription.

A police report filed on Tuesday shows that Dodson admitted to burglarizing the Middle Tennessee Therapeutic Clinic and told police he stole a pad of blank prescriptions. He also admitted to passing fraudulent prescriptions at Reeves Sain for Alprazolam while using a doctors name at the Keenland Commercial Blvd. clinic.

After arresting Dodson, they seized his BMW and over $200 in cash that was in his possession. Detectives also took possession of his cell phone and the stolen prescriptions.

Dodson was charged with:

  • Two counts of Prescription Fraud
  • Burglary
  • Theft
  • Two counts of Identity Theft

Dodson is set to appear in court this November.

Another suspect by the name of Kevin Carter was apprehended after dropping off a fraudulent prescription at the Kroger on Lascassas Pike in Murfreesboro. Police arrived at the pharmacy and waited for Carter to return to pick up his medication. Once he arrived, the 27-year old UPS worker was taken into custody.

Carter admitted to using the forged prescription, according to the report filed on Tuesday. Carter was charged with Prescription Fraud and Identity Theft.

The subject will appear in General Sessions Court in November.
