43 Year old Lavondas C. Nelson was arrested and charged with his third DUI and fifth driving on a revoked license charge in Murfreesboro.
Nelson was arrested after police were called to the Shell Gas Station on Lascassas Pike. Someone called dispatch and told them that Nelson was yelling and causing a scene in the parking lot.
When police pulled into the gas station, they confirmed Nelson's license plate matched that of one earlier in the day tied to a "Joyriding" case. One failed field sobriety test later and Nelson was in handcuffs.
Nelson was charged with DUI number 3, driving on a revoked license for the 5th time, joyriding and violation of the implied consent law.
According to a police report, Nelson's license was revoked due to previous DUI's. He was charged with violation of the implied consent after refusing to a blood alcohol content test. A search warrant to draw his blood had to be obtained.
The rightful owner of the 2012 Chevy Impala that Nelson was driving was contacted and retrieved the vehicle.
