4 Drug Arrests In Neighboring DeKalb County

(SMITHVILLE) In neighboring DeKalb County a joint investigation by Special Agents with the Drug Investigation Division of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and several other law enforcement agencies has resulted in the arrest of four individuals on drug-related charges.

TBI Drug Agents joined detectives and investigators with the Cookeville Police Department, Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, Crossville Police Department, Putnam County Sheriff's Office, Overton County Sheriff's Office, Pickett County Sheriff's Office, High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA), 13th Judicial Drug Task Force, Office of the 13th District Attorney General, and the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office.

The undercover investigation focused on the distribution of methamphetamine in the Upper Cumberland area, and on November 4th, resulted in the seizure of approximately eight kilos of methamphetamine, along with several weapons, vehicles, and cash. Additionally, four people were arrested and booked into the DeKalb County Jail. They include (below, left to right):

  • Tiffany Dawn Baker (DOB 07/25/1982), Baxter. One count Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) over 300 Grams, one count Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony. Bond: $160,000
  • Jacob Matthew Douglas (DOB 06/20/1989), Gainesboro. One count Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) over 300 Grams, one count Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony. Bond: $160,000.
  • Gary Hoyt Copley, Jr. (DOB 10/06/1981), Cookeville. One count Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) over 300 Grams. Bond: $150,000.
  • Taylor Ross Mayberry (DOB 06/16/1989), Baxter. One count Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) over 300 Grams. Bond: $150,000.
