480 Athletes and approximately 8,000 spectators to visit Rutherford County this week

The TSSAA Division I and Division II State Girls' Volleyball Championships will be held October 22-24 at Blackman High School, Siegel High School, and Siegel Middle School in Murfreesboro along with Stewarts Creek High School in Smyrna.

This event brings in 480 athletes and approximately 8,000 spectators to Rutherford County. A total of 32 Division I and II teams in five different classes will vie for the title of state champions. These volleyball tournaments have been hosted in Murfreesboro since 1996.

"We are thrilled to welcome volleyball teams and fans are from all over the state to Rutherford County," said Barbara Wolke, Vice President of the Rutherford County Convention and Visitors Bureau. "The tournament keeps our hotels and restaurants busy and also is a boost to our economy."

Admission is $8 per person Wednesday and Thursday and $10 per person on Friday.
