Keynote speaker will be U.S. Army Retired Col. Jeff Davidson, who served in Operation Desert Shield/Storm, Operation Joint Endeavor Guard and Iraqi Freedom. Other events include honor guards from the Sheriff's Office, Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Department and Emergency Medical Services and a flag ceremony to remember military prisoners of war and those missing in action.

Sheriff Robert Arnold said citizens are invited to show their support of emergency personnel and the military during the ceremony.

"We always want to remember the people who lost their lives responding to the terrorist attacks in the U.S. and the military that protect us in foreign lands," Sheriff Arnold said. "We also want to remember their families who live with the loss every day."

Col. Davidson, who now serves as Deputy Mayor to County Mayor Ernest Burgess, served in multiple combat tours. He served as a senior military advisor to the Iraqi Joint Force Headquarters assigned to Multi-National Security and Transition Command Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He earned several awards and medals.
