A 30-year old felon in Murfreesboro was recently arrested for possessing a weapon and drugs. Hanna M. Masarwa was taken into custody by police at his home on Cypress Drive.

Officer Reginal Primus went to the home after a call from a state probation officer. Once on the scene, he was told that Masarwa was not present. However, that later proved to be false. It was not hard for authorities to figure out someone was lying to them based on the fact that Masarwa was wearing a GPS ankle bracelet that showed his exact location. The GPS information was confirmed by Probation Officer Rebecca Parker.

Police then went to the subjects bedroom where they found two baggies of a rock like substance that tested positive for crack cocaine. A digital scale was found nearby with cocaine residue on it, all in plain view. In the culprits downstairs closet, three guns were found. Once police made contact with Masarwa, they located six more guns, which the man is not allowed to have because he is a convicted felon.

Of the guns found, three were "sawed off shotguns." Officers also found what is called a "Tech Nine" submachine gun. The other handguns that were found ranged from .22's to .45's.

The Cypress Drive man was charged with:

  • Possession of a Weapon by a Felon
  • Felony Possession of a Schedule II drug
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

The 30-year old native of Jordan will be in court on July 14, 2015. He is currently free on bond.
