9 Rutherford Countians Honored by Governor

Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam has appointed 217 Tennesseans to 93 boards and commissions, 9 are from Rutherford County.

"By serving on our state boards and commissions, these Tennesseans are helping us provide responsive, effective and efficient service to their fellow citizens," Haslam said. "I am grateful for their service and know they will well represent the people of Tennessee."

Appointment terms are varied due to differing statutory requirements or term limits determined by specific qualifications.

  1. Archaeological Advisory Council: Kevin Smith, Murfreesboro
  2. Board of Boiler Rules: David Baughman, Milton
  3. Board of Occupational Therapy: Amanda Newbern, Smyrna
  4. State Workforce Development Board: Greg Persinger, Murfreesboro
  5. Tennessee Advisory Committee for Acupuncture: Karman Gossett, Murfreesboro
  6. Tennessee Aeronautics Commission: George Huddleston, Murfreesboro
  7. Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth: Christy Sigler, La Vergne
  8. Tennessee Film, Entertainment, and Music Commission: Ken Paulson, Murfreesboro
  9. Tennessee State Veterans' Home Board: Susan Hall, Murfreesboro
