Thousands of children are expected to follow a candy trail on Saturday, October 26 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park in La Vergne. The annual “Trail of Treats” is free and includes a hayride, games, and a hike along the trail to “trick or treat” from local organizations and businesses.

“We had about 2,500 children last year who participated in this safe Halloween event hosted by the City of La Vergne,” said A.C. Davis, Parks & Recreation Director. “We hope children and adults dress up for this annual event.  We have seen everything from zombies and princesses to dogs wearing tutus and superheroes.”

Local businesses and organizations that sign up to participate in the program decorate their booths with a family-friendly Halloween theme. They hand out everything from candy to goo-goo clusters and often have games set up for children to play.

“This is a great way for people who live and play in La Vergne to meet businesses, church groups, and other organizations,” said Mayor Senna Mosley. “It’s a wonderful community event and one that thousands of families look forward to every year!”

The entire event is free to the public, but canned food items are encouraged to donate to the local food bank.

For information about signing up, visit the “Living In” section of the city webpage at www.lavergnetn.gov or contact Parks & Rec at (615) 793-3224.
