A New Building to House the Courts in Rutherford County is in Our Future, But What About the Current Building?

Rutherford County is pressed for space, according to the county mayor. The problem has led to the need for the construction of a new building to house the courts. The county already owns land across the street from the County Clerk Office, which is where a new judicial building will be constructed.

Mayor Ernest Burgess told us the new judicial building will be built with the future in mind.

We asked the mayor what would happen to the old judicial building that is currently in use for the courts on the local square…

No date has been set on when the new judicial building will be built, but it has been in the works since year 2000.
