An accident that unfolded in Murfreesboro at about 3:00 on Friday afternoon generated two calls to dispatch. Evidently, the second caller told police that the suspect fled the scene after wrecking on Florence Road at Broad Street.

According to a police report, the called followed the driver of the Nissan Pathfinder until it pulled into the parking lot of a Dollar General Store on Thompson Lane in Murfreesboro. Police arrived and made contact with Tamara Michelle Waddell. The responding officer wrote in a report, "I observed Ms. Waddell to be unsteady on her feet when exiting the vehicle."

When police asked Waddell if she knew that she got into an accident, she acted as if she were unaware of the incident.

After a field sobriety test was failed, Waddell was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, DUI and violation of the implied consent law. Authorities then obtained a search warrant for the 29-year olds blood in order for the blood sample to be measured for alcohol content.

Waddell will be in court on August 30, 2016.
