Neighbors in the Falls Grove area told WGNS the scene was unsettling, especially because of how peaceful the subdivision normally is. One woman said she was awakened by what she described as an unusual rustling sound during the early morning hours. Later, she noticed what appeared to be blood near the end of her driveway, approximately 35 to 40 feet from her front door.
That same neighbor said she had concerns that the female victim may have been experiencing domestic violence, based on information the victim had reportedly shared with another person. That portion of the case has not been confirmed by investigators, but the comment adds to the list of questions detectives may be working to answer as they piece together what happened before deputies arrived.
Authorities are now asking residents in the immediate area of Wellsford Lane to check home security cameras, doorbell cameras and any other surveillance footage recorded between midnight and 3 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1. Even a passing vehicle, a person walking between homes, or audio captured outside could help investigators establish a timeline.
Anyone with relevant footage or information is asked to contact Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Detective Raechel Haber. As of now, officials have not publicly released the name of the woman who died or additional information about the person taken into custody.
For residents in College Grove, Eagleville and the surrounding rural communities in Williamson, Rutherford and Marshall Counties, the Williamson County Sheriff's Office has said that the incident is not tied to any type of an ongoing threat and was confirmed to be an isolated event.
