PODCAST: Building a Brighter Future with Innovative Mechatronics at MTSU

PODCAST ABOVE: Artificial intelligence is moving beyond computer screens and into the physical world through robotics, automation and intelligent machines. In this WGNS podcast, host Scott Walker Dr. Lei Miao, professor of mechatronics engineering at Middle Tennessee State University, explains how “physical AI” and “embodied AI” are changing manufacturing, transportation and everyday life.

Dr. Miao also discusses MTSU’s newly approved Master of Science in Mechatronics Systems Engineering—the first graduate program of its kind in Tennessee. The interdisciplinary degree combines mechanical systems, embedded technology, automation, robotics, controls and artificial intelligence to prepare engineers for a rapidly evolving workforce.

The 30-credit-hour program can be completed in as little as one year, including summer courses, with evening classes available for working professionals.
