MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) - Live music is taking over the heart of Rutherford County next month as Main Street Murfreesboro hosts another installment of the Friday Night Live concert series.
The free concert takes place Friday, August 7, on the west side of the Historic Downtown Square. The band Third Party Thieves hits the stage at 6:30 p.m. The Middle Tennessee Southern and classic rock group will bring high-energy dance favorites, classic hits, and contemporary music to the crowd until 9:30 p.m.

•Free Concert: Third Party Thieves will perform classic and southern rock hits from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the west side of the square.
•Downtown Activities: Local restaurants and shops will be open early, and the Boro Art Crawl will feature artists along the sidewalks.
•Road Closures: The Murfreesboro Public Square closes to all vehicle traffic starting at 5:00 p.m. and will reopen around 9:30 p.m.
•Parking Options: Drivers can park for free in both the city and county parking garages or public lots surrounding the square.
Organizers encourage attendees to head downtown early. Concertgoers can grab dinner at locally owned restaurants and shop with downtown merchants before the music starts. In addition to the concert, the Boro Art Crawl will set up along the sidewalks around the Public Square.
If you plan to attend, pack your own lawn chairs. Free parking is available in both the City and County parking garages, as well as public lots surrounding the square.
Drivers should prepare for road closures. The Murfreesboro Public Square will close to all vehicle traffic at 5:00 p.m., and motorists must remove their vehicles before that time. Streets will remain closed until 9:30 p.m. The stage will sit on the west side of the Historic Rutherford County Courthouse, with spectator seating allowed along Maple Street, West Main Street, and around the courthouse grounds.
The August event follows a disappointing weather cancellation on July 3, when lightning and heavy rain washed out the planned America 250th celebration featuring the band Entice. Main Street Murfreesboro confirmed they cannot reschedule that cancelled show for later in 2026, but they plan to bring Entice back to the stage in 2027.
