Tullahoma Motorcyclist Killed in I-65 Crash Involving Two Semi-Trucks

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A 19-year-old Tullahoma man has died following a Wednesday evening motorcycle crash involving two semi-trailer trucks on Interstate 65 South near Dickerson Pike.

Metro Nashville Police identified the motorcyclist as Jason Bungarz-Kinney.

The collision occurred at approximately 7 p.m. Wednesday. According to the preliminary investigation, both semi-trailer trucks were traveling southbound in separate lanes next to one another when Bungarz-Kinney, who was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed, attempted to pass between the two trucks.

Police said the motorcycle struck the rear of one of the semi-trailers. Both truck drivers stopped following the crash.

Bungarz-Kinney was transported to Skyline Medical Center, where he died during the night.

Investigators reported no signs that either semi-truck driver was impaired.
