MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) - The Rutherford County Health Department has hired Joshualyn Woods, FNP, to serve as a new primary care provider for local residents.
Woods has already stepped into her new position and will begin taking on new patients starting August 24th, 2026.
"We are very pleased that Joshualyn Woods is joining our staff as a primary care provider," said County Health Department Director Sydney Butterfield. "We know she will make a contribution to our work to improve the health of everyone who lives in our communities."
The department provides medical options for community members who are insured, uninsured, underinsured, or enrolled in TennCare. Licensed medical staff deliver primary care services that include managing acute illnesses and chronic diseases.
In addition to primary care, local health department services include immunizations, dental care, family planning, and WIC supplemental nutrition. The facility also provides birth and death certificates, along with community wellness initiatives like the GIFTS pregnancy smoking cessation program and the TNSTRONG youth tobacco-free movement.
