Heat & Storms Continue: Rutherford County 7 Day Forecast

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WGNS) - Expect more heat and storm chances this week here in Rutherford County. 

A level 1 out of 5 severe weather outlook is in place for Monday (August 17th), with the potential for severe thunderstorms bringing damaging straight-line winds, particularly to areas east and south of Murfreesboro.

The 7-day forecast indicates scattered thunderstorms on Monday (August 17th) with a high of 92 degrees and a low of 70 degrees. Conditions clear on Tuesday (August 18th) with sunny skies, a high of 89 degrees, and a low of 66 degrees. Wednesday (August 19th) brings sunny conditions with a high near 90 degrees and a low of 67 degrees.

Rain chances return Thursday (August 20th) with scattered thunderstorms, a high of 82 degrees, and a low of 69 degrees. Scattered thunderstorms persist into Friday (August 21st) with a high of 88 degrees and a low of 68 degrees. Sunshine returns for the weekend, with highs reaching 90 degrees on Saturday (August 22nd) and 91 degrees on Sunday (August 23rd), with overnight lows staying near 69 degrees.

Long-range models suggest a temporary cool-down heading into the following week around Monday (August 24th), with temperatures potentially dropping several degrees into the mid-80s. Long range models aren't to be fully trusted this far out, but do give us something to watch in the coming days.
