MURFREESBORO, TN (WGNS) - Greenhouse Ministries’ Live In the ’Boro is back—and in its fifth year, the talent spectacular is stepping into a new spotlight. On Friday, September 18, 2026, Hop Springs (6790 John Bragg Highway) will host an evening of local performers competing for $1,000 in prize money, all while raising support for one of Murfreesboro’s most trusted community ministries. This year carries a special excitement. Murfreesboro’s own Jordan McCullough, now recognized worldwide after his Top‑3 finish on American Idol, returns home to headline the event. His performance is expected to draw one of the largest crowds in Live In the ’Boro history.
But behind the lights, applause, and talent competition is a story rooted in service.
Cliff and Jane Sharp, founders of Greenhouse Ministries, often say the event reflects the heart of the organization itself. “Greenhouse has always been about people—helping them, encouraging them, and giving them a place to belong,” Cliff explains. “Live In the ’Boro grew out of that same spirit. It’s a night where the community comes together to celebrate hope.”
Jane adds, “We started Greenhouse with no budget and no staff—just faith and a desire to serve. Seeing hundreds of people gather for this event each year reminds us how much this community believes in helping one another.”
The first Live In the ’Boro took place in 2024 as part of Greenhouse’s 25th anniversary celebration. What began as a simple evening of music and memories quickly became a tradition. By 2025, it had evolved into a polished talent showcase with video auditions, finalists, and a packed venue. Today, it stands as Greenhouse’s signature entertainment fundraiser, supporting programs that provide food, clothing, classes, mentoring, and transitional housing.
This year’s event blends hometown pride with mission-driven purpose. Local performers will take the stage, Jordan McCullough will deliver a homecoming performance, and the community will rally behind the ministry that has served Murfreesboro since 1999.
As Jane puts it, “It’s more than a show. It’s a celebration of what can happen when people care about their neighbors.”
