MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) - Middle Tennessee State University Athletics and Nashville concert promoter NVRDUL Events announced Tuesday (September 8th) the launch of Live in the Boro, a public-private partnership aimed at bringing major entertainment acts to the campus.

The live concert series will kick off during MTSU's Homecoming week with multi-platinum country hitmaker Bailey Zimmerman headlining the first event at the historic Murphy Center. The show is set for 7 p.m. Thursday (November 5th), with doors opening at 6 p.m. The lineup also features hip-hop artist Waka Flocka Flame, country group Miller Holler, and DJ Dee Jay Silver.

University leaders view the partnership as a way to boost local commercial activity and create a steady stream of financial support for Blue Raider Athletics. MTSU President Sidney A. McPhee noted that planned state and privately funded renovations to both the Murphy Center and Floyd Stadium, set to start in 2027, will further position the campus as a premier venue for Rutherford County and Middle Tennessee residents.

NVRDUL Events plans to host multiple concerts and special events throughout the academic year. Pre-sale tickets for the debut show open at noon Wednesday (September 9th) for current 2026-27 Blue Raider Athletic Association members and season ticket holders. MTSU students can purchase tickets starting at noon Thursday (September 10th), and general public sales begin at 10 a.m. Friday (September 11th). Concert details and ticket updates are available at GoBlueRaiders.com/live-in-the-boro-concert.
