MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) - Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department (MFRD) crews extinguished a fire hidden inside a kitchen wall at the Embassy Suites on Conference Center Boulevard early Tuesday morning.
Dispatched for a smoke alarm around 4:45 a.m., MFRD Ladder 11 arrived first on the scene and observed smoke coming from the hotel roof. As additional emergency crews arrived, firefighters discovered smoke coming from the kitchen area.
Firefighters located a active fire tucked inside a kitchen wall. Reaching and extinguishing the flames required extra time and effort as firefighters worked to gain access through heavy stainless steel panels.
The fire is completely out, though crews remain on scene to ventilate lingering smoke from the building.
Hotel guests were not evacuated because the fire was strictly contained to the kitchen area and never impacted the main hotel tower. No injuries have been reported.
A large multi-unit response handled the call. MFRD units on scene include Ladder 11, Ladder 4, Engine 9, Engine 5, Engine 7, Ladder 1, Ladder 2, Rescue 11, Rescue 4, Battalion Chief 1, Battalion Chief 2, Safety 1, and Safety 2.
