Counterfeit bills have reared their worthless head in Rutherford County again. This time, the fake cash has struck another CraigsList shopper.
On Sunday, a man selling a cell phone on CraigsList met a potential buyer at McDonald’s on Old Fort Parkway. The subject handed the victim 3 $100 bills and 4 counterfeit $20 bills in exchange for the Samsung Galaxy. The victim realized the money was fake after the subject drove away.
The culprit was described as a black male in his 30’s, driving a blue Ford Expedition. The fake cash was placed into evidence. So far, no arrests have been made.
Fake $10 bills were also confiscated at the Thorton's Gas Station on Old Fort Parkway. No arrests have been made in that case.
