Longstanding Rutherford County resident and local attorney Eric Hennessee has announced his intention to seek the Republican Party's nomination for General Sessions Judge, Part II. “I've lived here since the first grade, and I love Rutherford County and its people. It is the place where I grew up and where I practice law,” Hennessee said regarding his strong allegiance to Rutherford County.

If elected, Hennessee would replace incumbent Democrat, General Sessions Judge David Loughry. With a diligent work ethic, the small business owner aims to take his knowledge and leadership to the next level.  Hennessee’s primary platform intersects the lines of justice, equality and fiscal responsibility within the legal system.

“I believe that everyone deserves fairness when dealing with the legal system. Everyone should expect to find justice when they come to court. In order to make sure the court is treating everyone justly, the judge has to pay attention and listen during a hearing. At the same time, the victims of crime deserve justice too and if someone is found guilty they should be punished according to the law,” he added.

Earning his high school education at Riverdale, he received his undergraduate degree from Lipscomb University and his law degree from the University of Memphis. Hennessee has also served as a missionary to South America and severed as Vice Secretary of the Rutherford County Republican Party and is a member of the Rutherford County Young Republicans. Hennessee and his Wife Vanessa attend North Boulevard Church of Christ.
