The Rutherford County Property Assessor’s Office will use a Clean Energy Grant to buy two Ford C-max hybrid vehicles to boost fuel efficiency and help improve the county’s air quality. Property Assessor Rob Mitchell says the purchase of the vehicles, made possible by funding from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation should save taxpayers more than $30,000 over the next 10 years by cutting fuel costs. He adds the county's Budget and Finance Committee will vote on the financing on Wednesday.
