Richardson Ave. Man Faces Drug Charges

A 20-year old Richardson Avenue man faces various drug charges after being stopped by Murfreesboro Police. Fronzell Batts was stopped on East Main Street at Hancock for a traffic violation around 2 Tuesday afternoon. The arresting officer said he noticed a smell of marijuana coming from the car. The officer asked Batts if he had drugs on him and he stated no. But the search turned up marijuana hidden in his groin area. He was also found to be in possession of cocaine and scales, according to the report. Nearly 13 grams of crack cocaine and nearly the same amount of marijuana were taken into evidence. Batts was charged with simple possession of a schedule four drug, felony possession of a schedule two drug and drug paraphernalia. He'll answer to the charges in General Sessions Court on November 20th. Batts was booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center on a six-thousand dollar bond.
