Welcome to Murfreesboro everyone associated with the Fall Bash in the 'Boro Soccer Tournament. It began Friday and continues through Sunday (October 24-26, 2014) at the Richard Siegel Soccer Complex. More than 15-hundred soccer players from across the southeast and midwest are here for this major event sponsored by the Murfreesboro Soccer Club. There are 103 boys' soccer teams ages eight to 18 representing 33 different soccer clubs.

"The Bash in the 'Boro events each year continue to build Murfreesboro's established reputation as the biggest soccer city in Tennessee," said Tournament Director Stephen St. Amour. "The World Cup helped stoke the imagination of players across the country. Teams are traveling to Murfreesboro to find excellent competition - something our events always deliver."

Soccer has already brought national recognition to Rutherford County and Murfreesboro. National website Livability.com ranked Murfreesboro one of the top 10 soccer cities in the U.S. along with Chapel Hill, N.C. and Scottsdale, AZ.

Murfreesboro Soccer Club Director of Coaching Ivan Jackson said the reputation of MSC and the Bash continues to grow. The excitement level around the tournament also has an impact on the local soccer community.

"MSC's goal is to unite our community through a passion for soccer," Jackson said. The profile of the sport has never been higher in the U.S. or in Tennessee. Events like the Bash tournaments and the day-to-day efforts of our club help ensure Murfreesboro is a national leader in this growing sport."
