UPDATE: Two Die In Sunday Crash At Franklin Rd. Baptist

Murfreesboro Police has released the names of those killed in an accident on Old Fort Parkway or Highway 96, in front of Franklin Road Baptist Church. The incident happened on Sunday at 1:11pm.

Sergeant Kyle Evans told NewsRadio WGNS that was pulling out of the church's parking lot and turning toward town onto the Old Fort Parkway. That driver, Ann R. Piercy of Skyview Drive, pulled into the path of a second vehicle that was traveling west (away from town). The 78-year old driver was pronounced deceased at the E-R of St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital, along with passenger, 80-year old Harold B. Piercy.

The driver and passenger in the vehicle heading away from town were taken by the Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. Driver Fredrick E. Carney of Halls Hill Pike and passenger William E. Walker of South Rutherford Boulevard, both 24-years old, received only minor injuries

The city police' Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) is investigating the Sunday afternoon fatal crash.
