The 4th Annual Special Kids Race announced Monday that registration is 80 percent full for the 15K, 5K, and 1 Mile on Saturday, March 21, at Murfreesboro Medical Clinic.
Organizers are expecting 3,000 participants in this community race to support local nonprofit, Special Kids Therapy & Nursing Center. Online registration is offered through Friday, March 20, and event day registration will be available on March 21 for an additional $5 late fee.
Beyond entrance in the event, race participants each receive a soft-style t-shirt, race medal, and goodie bag with giveaways from sponsors. For the fourth year, all race expenses are covered by sponsors, allowing funds from registration fees to directly benefit children with special needs at Special Kids. Race fees are $45 for the 15K, $40 for the 5K, and $20 for the 1 Mile Fun Run. Registration is currently open online at specialkidsrace.org.
Special Kids is a Christian therapy and nursing center for children with special needs. The Murfreesboro-based ministry started with one child in 1998 and has grown to serve over 2,700 children from 18 counties in middle Tennessee.
