Armed Rutherford Countians are standing guard outside the U.S. Military Recruiting Center on Old Fort Parkway and they say they'll stay there until there are laws allowing the recruiting personnel inside to arm themselves. Matt Woodward, with gun in tow, tells NewsRadio WGNS it's an honor to protect the recruiters inside...

Woodward went on to say they'll stand watch at the local recruitment center until the laws restricting military personnel there from carrying weapons for protection are changed...

Woodward says they'll be working shifts to make sure every hour the recruitment center is open, there's someone there to protect those inside...

Stories like this are popping up all over the country as citizens stand guard at unprotected recruitment centers. This in the wake of the tragic shooting in Chattanooga last week at a military recruitment center, similar to the one here in Murfreesboro.
