The charge of "Possession of a Schedule II Drug within a drug free school zone" has been field against a 29-year old Murfreesboro man. Rolandras L. Murray was also charged with "felony" violation of probation.
Murray was busted at the Mapco gas station on South Church Street at Middle Tennessee Boulevard. Evidently, a Murfreesboro Police Officer recognized him as someone who has a warrant for his arrest. Needless to say, the subject left the Mapco in a different car than he drove up in. He was hauled away in a police car and taken less than two miles down the street to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.
Police say they found a bag of crack cocaine in Murray's possession prior to taking him to jail. The man claimed he no longer sells crack, but found the bag in his vehicle. But, while at the jail Murray allegedly said that he was either going to sell the crack cocaine or smoke it. He further said that he was unemployed, according to the MPD report that WGNS obtained. Shortly after that, police seized over $350 in cash that was in Murray's possession.
The arrest was made within 1,000 feet of Bellwood Baptist Church, which houses a K through 12th grade school. That situation led to the charge of "Possession of a Schedule II Drug within a drug free school zone." Murray has three felony convictions for cocaine sales in Rutherford County, for which he is currently on probation for.
The local man will appear in court on October 7, 2015.
