Main Street Murfreesboro not only promotes renovating historic buildings downtown, but they also encourage living in the inner city.

Their "Evening On Maney" was a huge success Tuesday evening. The new home of Judy Goldie and Melanie Davenport showed how today's luxury can blend gracefully with the beauty and tradition of yesteryear.

Not only did patrons help the Main Street renovation program, but they also saw why many are moving to the downtown historic district. This is a new, custom-built, 3,200 square foot home that is designed to fit with surrounding architecture.

After the Civil War, the Maney family started to sell some land in their 1,500 acre plantation. That included the tree-lined carriage path to the mansion. That straight road is now North Maney Avenue, and is described by many as being Murfreesboro's first subdivision.

Main Street Murfreesboro encourages residents to renovate old homes and to also create new residences that blend with that long ago era. Tuesday's "Evening On Maney" had many thinking and dreaming. A massive downtown rebirth is happening in nearby Nashville, and from comments heard at the gathering--the 'Boro is about to see an even more unique renovation.
