City of Murfreesboro Wants YOUR Ideas!

City of Murfreesboro leadership is serious about a customer friendly atmosphere. In fact, they want your ideas during public meeting on both October 27th and 28th.

Future Land Use

On Tuesday evening, October 27th, from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Patterson Community Center (521 Mercury Blvd.) the public input will help develop a 20-year comprehensive plan. The focus will be on Murfreesboro's Future Land Use and Character Plan (Chapter 4. Draft Chapter 4). To learn more watch YouTube video

What: Citizens are encouraged to gather to hear a presentation from consultant Kendig Keast Collaborative (KKC) and provide input on draft Chapter 4, Land Use & Character, as it relates to Murfreesboro's quality of life, community character, and growth capacity. The Community Meeting is part of the 2-year process of developing a comprehensive plan for the City of Murfreesboro called Murfreesboro 2035: Our Future Begins Now.

Consultant Presentation

The next evening, 5:30 to 7:30 on Wednesday, October 28th, the public will have the opportunity to hear a presentation from Kendig Keast Collaborative in the city council chambers of Murfreesboro's City Hall (111 W. Vine St.). It will cover the draft of Chapter 7 Economic Development.

The Collaborative will also provide on update on the Murfreesboro 2035 Plan to the City Council, Thurs. Oct. 29, 2015, from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., prior to the Council's regularly scheduled meeting.

Sub-consultant Neel-Shaffer, Inc. continues to analyze traffic, growth, and future land use in preparation for the Major Thoroughfare Plan.

Murfreesboro 2035 is a community-wide process to plan for the next 20 years of growth and development. The final results of the two-year planning process is the City of Murfreesboro's Comprehensive Plan, a community guidebook that specifies policy, program, and project initiatives for the City.
