The Noon Exchange Club held its monthly board meeting Wednesday October 28th, 2015, where they were joined by guests, Exchange Tennessee District President, Wayne Tucker and Regional Vice President, Phil Howard. Board members that were present for the installation ceremony were, Past President, Tony Dugger, Secretary Nancy McGill, Treasurer John Stracener, Directors Frank Jennings, Phil Barkley, Rebecca Talley and Pat Houseman.
JoAnne Skidmore was installed as President by state district President Wayne Tucker. Invocation was given by Nancy McGill and pledge was led by Tony Dugger.
JoAnne Thompson Skidmore, a native of Murfreesboro, started her endeavors with the Noon Exchange Club in the fall of 2013, and became an official member in April of 2014. A graduate of Riverdale High School, she attended MTSU to pursue pre-med and graduated from Excelsior with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a minor in marketing. A certified Ophthalmic Assistant and Laser Technician, Skidmore's career was tenured in healthcare from clinical operations to consulting. In the early 1990's, she broadened her interests, with an award winning agency for Farmers Insurance Group, as well as becoming licensed in Real Estate, managing and overseeing several residential and commercial developments throughout Middle Tennessee. She continued her endeavors in healthcare, certifying physicians in laser physics and training surgeons on Holmium Nd YAG platform delivery systems. She would go on to manage Wang Vision Institute, and co-founding the Laser MedSpa at Wang Vision Institute, then becoming the Clinical Director of the Vanderbilt Eye Institute. Skidmore is a dedicated volunteer in our community, consulting on public policy matters with our elected officials, foundations and non-profits. She is a member of the Perfect 36 Society to commemorate the ratification of the 19th Amendment, Women's right to vote, one of only five ladies from Murfreesboro recognized by the Society. She Chairs the Women in Business for the Tennessee Federation of Republican Women, serves as the 2nd Vice-President of the Republican Women of Rutherford County, and is the Past Executive Director of the Republican Party of Rutherford County.
Club President, JoAnne Thompson Skidmore remarked, "The Noon Exchange Club was founded by a group of local businessmen in 1979, and just celebrated its 36th year since its original charter. One of our founding members is, our Past President and Past National Exchange Club President, Senator Bill Ketron. He is also the one who gave me the gift of Exchange through sponsorship. The National Exchange Club was originally founded in 1917, to advocate Americanism, Family and Community. That's still true today. I'm honored to be a steward of this 36 year old club that has done so much for Middle Tennessee, especially through our support of our Exchange Family Center. The work accomplished through the programs at the Family Center provide education and awareness to reduce the risk of neglect and abuse. Our national project is the Prevention of child abuse. We do a great deal for our military and veterans through donations received at our annual Healing Field on Memorial Day weekend each year.
