A Lascassas woman was arrested after pulling her gun during an incident at the Wal-Mart on Old Fort Parkway. Sherry McLain, age 67, of Barlow Lane was charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment after pulling her handgun on a man in the parking lot.

According to the police report, McLain was approached by the black male victim asking for a light for a cigarette last Friday afternoon around 4:15pm. She claims he approached her aggressively.

Another woman and her child were also in the parking lot, allegedly as the woman had the gun drawn.

However, after police watched video of the incident and gathered evidence, they determined there was no eminent threat and McLain acted unlawfully in pulling her firearm.

She will have a chance to argue her case in General Sessions Court on January 7th.
