Rutherford County School Students Excel at Mid-State Choir Event

On October 22-24, over 1,400 high school choral students from across Middle Tennessee auditioned for spots in the Mid-State Choirs. Of the 584 who were selected, 120 came from Rutherford County Schools, more than any other county in the state and more than all the Mid-State private schools combined.

These students attended the Mid-State Clinic on November 17 and 18 at the First Baptist Church in Nashville, singing with students from across the Mid-State, working with talented college conductors, and performing challenging music.

"This is a life-changing experience for these talented students," said Brenda Gregory, choir director at Siegel High School and Chair of the Mid-State choral event. "We are so proud of these students for representing our schools with distinction. This achievement represents a high level of expertise and dedication on the part of the Rutherford County choral directors and their students."

Every high school in Rutherford County placed students in the Mid-State choirs.
