A bullet hole was discovered in the room of a baby behind the dirty clothes hamper on Sunday.

Murfreesboro Police were summoned to the home in the 1500 block of Cason Trail on Sunday after a woman found the bullet hole while gathering dirty laundry from the hamper in the room of her newborn. The bullet evidently entered the room, went through the clothing hamper and into the sheet-rock of a closet. Police confirmed the bullet entered into the outside of the home and while on the scene photographed the siding where the bullet ripped into the outside wall. A second bullet hole was found on the outside of the neighbor's home as well.

When officers spoke to the neighbor, he told police that he accidentally discharged his friends Hi Point 995 Rifle. He told the authorities that he thought the bullet only went through the wall of his home and not his neighbors. Luckily, no one was injured.

The Hi Point rifle and a 9mm bullet were seized for evidence. The neighbor who told police he did not know anything about guns was charged with reckless endangerment and vandalism.
