Jury Convicts Man of Voluntary Manslughter

The man accused of killing Murfreesboro resident Daniel Cartwright has been convicted. Clifton Williams who went by the nickname of “Ace” was convicted of voluntary manslaughter on Wednesday. The murder took place last February. It took the 12-jurors a total of 2-hours and 30-minutes to come back decide the fate of the local man. On October 28th, Williams will be sentenced.

Williams killed Cartwright when the man came to his apartment demanding to see a man who went by the alias of Small Head. Williams told the jury that Cartwright was with two other men when they arrived at his door to discuss a TV and X-Box that had been stolen from a friend’s home. It was during a brief confrontation that Williams shot Cartwright. Despite the brief confrontation, it was revealed that Cartwright never threatened Williams.
