Murfreesboro wants your input on the future of the city

The City of Murfreesboro is once again seeking input from residents, land owners, and developers as part of the process to develop its Murfreesboro 2035 Plan, a 20-year comprehensive plan for the future of Murfreesboro. A Community Open House is scheduled at City Hall, Thursday, July 21, to gather local input on the City's draft Chapter 8, Implementation Priorities & Strategies. Citizens can view all previously completed chapters on the Murfreesboro 2035 Comprehensive Plan webpage at http://www.murfreesborotn.gov/.

The Murfreesboro 2035 Task Force, Planning Commission and City Council will also gather in a joint meeting, Wednesday, July 20, 2016, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., to give input on the priorities and recommended strategies from consultant Kendig Keast Collaborative (KKC) on draft Chapter Implementation Strategies. The Task Force meeting, which is open to the public, will be conducted at The Heritage Room, 352 West Northfield, Suite B, Murfreesboro, TN 37129.

Murfreesboro 2035 is a community-wide process to plan for the next 20 years of growth and development. The final results of the two-year planning process is the City of Murfreesboro's Comprehensive Plan, a community guidebook that specifies policy, program, and project initiatives for the City. The comprehensive plan is organized in chapters according to core topics as follows:

Who: The Citizens of Murfreesboro and anyone interested in attending an Open House on draft Chapter 8 Implementation Priorities & Strategies for the City's future over the next 20 years.

What: Citizens are encouraged to gather with city staff and consultants with Kendig Keast Collaborative (KKC) to prioritize which of the recommended strategies in the Murfreesboro 2035 comprehensive plan are most important for implementation in the next 12-18 months. The Community Open House is part the 2-year process of developing a comprehensive plan for the City of Murfreesboro called Murfreesboro 2035: Our Future Begins Now.
