Murfreesboro Police pulled a man over for making an improper lane change and eventually ended up arresting the subject on numerous charges.

When officers asked 25 year old Brandon D. Buchanan if he has ever been in trouble, he responded that he was on felony probation for manslaughter. Police then asked Buchanan to step out of the car at which point he was frisked. The officer felt a large bulge in the area of his rectum and asked what the foreign object was, but Buchanan refused to tell police. The man then refused to grant permission for police to search his car.

When police looked into the windows of the car, they quickly observed a handgun. Due to the subject being a convicted felon, it was illegal for him to possess such a weapon. Buchanan was then placed in handcuffs.

After the man was transported to the local jail for booking, he was strip-searched. That was when police found that the bulge in the area of his rear end were two bags of cocaine weighting a total of 1 gram.

Buchanan was charged with a felon being in possession of a handgun, felony possession of a schedule 1 drug, and bringing contraband into a penal institution. The subject was booked under a $44,000 bond and will appear in court this October.
