Fatal ATV Crash In Rockvale

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal Wednesday (8/17/2016) afternoon ATV crash on Morgan Road in which 32-year old Amber Biggs was killed.

Rutherford County Fire and Rescue Chief Larry Farley told NewsRadio WGNS that they were dispatched to the tragic crash at 2:47 Wednesday afternoon.

Tennessee Highway Patrol Sergeant Travis Plotzer said the woman was not wearing a safety helmet. Biggs reportedly hit her head on the pavement and was pronounced deceased when first-responders arrived.

Trooper Gerald Buchanan reports that Amber Biggs was traveling southbound toward Rocky Glade Road, when she lost control of the Suzuki ATV, went onto the right shoulder of the roadway and was thrown from it. The ATV then flipped and rolled before coming to rest in a driveway at 5092 Morgan Road.

The situation was made even more tragic when family members happened onto the scene. The state trooper, deputies and other responders compassionately handled the delicate situation.

This was a very difficult accident, and the deputies from the Rutherford County Sheriffs Office, Highway Patrol trooper, paramedics from the Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services, and Rutherford County Fire & Rescue responders are all commended for the professional help given to family members.
