Multiple gunshots were fired in the area of Journey Drive in Murfreesboro this past Sunday and police were able to collect twenty seven .22 caliber shell casings.
The subjects who reported hearing the shots said they were in their backyard when they heard the gunfire at about 10:30 in the evening. Some of the bullets were said to be "whizzing" over their head, according to one report.
A party at a nearby home caught the attention of police, but all subjects present denied firing a gun and further denied having a firearm on the property. Despite the denial, police report that the 27 shell casings were found on the property where the subjects denied firing any shots.
Numerous statements were collected by the authorities, but no arrests were made. No injuries or property damage was reported.
