Fran would like to thank Coach Cates and Coach Eakes for their nomination and to personally thank them for being the outstanding coaches and role models that they were and still are to me. I learned so much basketball from them, and more importantly, they cared so much for my development as a person as well as all members of the teams I was fortunate to play on. I am also very appreciative of the fact that I grew up in a town where sports was and still is a way of life. I can't imagine growing up any differently and thank my coaches, Oakland High School, my former teammates, and our city for providing me with all the tools to succeed in sports and in life.
It is a huge honor to be inducted into the Hall of Fame here at Oakland considering all of the talent and the teams that have come through this gym. Much continued success to Coach Grandstaff and all of the players, past and present! Go OHS!
