Murfreesboro firefighter Britt Gammon is no longer on administrative leave following an internal investigation to determine whether there were any actions that violate City of Murfreesboro policies.
The City placed Gammon on paid leave November 18th last year, pending the outcome of the investigation involving allegations of statutory rape, sexual exploitation of a minor and possession of child pornography.
On June 2nd, Fire Chief Mark Foulks received a letter from Assistant District Attorney Tammy Rettig, advising the case was closed without prosecution due to the inability to show the offense occurred beyond a reasonable doubt.
The internal investigation did find there were violations of city employee handbook policies, thus Gammon was suspended for two 24-hour shifts without pay. He's also placed on disciplinary probation for two-years and will not be eligible for promotion during that time.
Prior to being placed on leave, he was assigned to Station 9 A-Shift. Gammon returned to work July 8, 2017, and is assigned to Station 5 A-Shift.
