A man who was convicted in 2012 for the attempted rape of a child allegedly ran from police in recent days, according to an arrest report filed by Murfreesboro Police.

Gregory Jackson was reportedly seen driving a blue Nissan Quest minivan on East State Street and officers had prior knowledge that Jackson had active warrants for his arrest. When police pulled the van over, Jackson allegedly jumped out of the van and fled on foot. The arresting officer chased Jackson down and placed him into custody after a 200-yard sprint.

35 Year old Jackson was charged with four counts of violating the sex offender registry and three counts of violating his community supervision. Upon searching the van that Jackson was seen in, police say they found a crackpipe. He landed himself a single charge of Violation of Probation and additional charges of evading arrest and criminal trespassing.
