St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital GROWING

On Wednesday (11/8/2017) the Tennessee Health Services and Development Agency gave St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital the green light to add more floors and increase the number of beds at the hospital on Medical Center Parkway. It also approved a surgical treatment center on the New Salem Highway. That represents a total investment of more thant $47 million.

72 Bed Expansion at Hospital

St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital will increase the number of patients served by 72 more beds. That will give the local faith-based hospital a total of 385 beds. With other improvements, Ascension plans to invest $47-million more into the wellness of this community.

25 Bed Addition Near ER

In addition, a 9,566 square foot Clinical Decision Unit is planned near the hospital's emergency room. It will provide 25 additional beds for patients who need to stay for less than 24-hours. Construction on this $8.3-million facility has already begun and is forecast to be open this coming summer.

Surgical Center on New Salem Highway

Another expansion for Ascension here in Murfreesboro is at St. Thomas Health on the New Salem Highway between St. Andrews Drive and the Veterans Parkway. The state approved construction of a 13,000 square foot ambulatory surgical treatment center with two operating rooms and one procedure room. That project is estimated to cost $16-million.
