"Both of these players have a great passion for the game and a strong work ethic," Adams said. "They will both work hard, and I think they can make an immediate impact on the team. I am elated that they have decided to continue their golf careers and education at Middle Tennessee."
George is coming to Murfreesboro after a decorated career at Walker Valley High School. The Cleveland, Tenn., native played in the TSSAA State Tournament all four years in high school, and was an All-State honoree as a senior. George also qualified for the U.S. Girls Junior.
"Avery is a well-rounded golfer with a lot of tournament experience at the AJGA level," Adams said. "She has very good distance and a mature demeanor on the golf course, both of which will help her make the transition to college golf a lot easier. She is very focused, and I expect her to be a contributing factor in helping us move up higher in the national rankings."
Williams will be joining the team after lettering four seasons in both golf and basketball at Lawrence County High School. The Lawrenceburg, Tenn., native was the TGA Co-Player of the Year in 2010 and won the Tennessee Jr. PGA Championship earlier this year. Williams is also the reigning Tennessee high school state champion.
"I am very exited to have Emily sign with us," Adams said. "She is an outstanding athlete, and I know that she will really excel at the college level. I am thrilled to have her be a part of the team, and I think that she can get us to the next level. Emily is very competitive and she's a lot of fun to watch play. She's definitely one to watch out for in the future."
Middle Tennessee completed its fall season last month, and the Blue Raiders will begin the spring campaign in February.
