Since the new Judicial Center and new Rutherford County parking garage opened, citizens have raised concerns over parking regulations on the downtown square. The city has taken a step that will lessen those parking restrictions.
City Manager Craig Tindall proposed and got council approval to increase parking limits from one hour to two over the entire downtown square area.
Back in June, Mayor Shane McFarland said they were looking at the regulations. He agreed with callers to the Action Line program on WGNS there have been significant changes in parking demand with the opening of the new Judicial Center and parking garage:
