Murfreesboro Mayor Shane McFarland told WGNS that the city and county are focused on saving lives. One item that is a focus, would be to send a city emergency worker to a county address if that paramedic or fire truck can respond faster.
The Mayor said that the role of firefighters has changed over the years and that firemen not only fight fires, they are also first reponders that can save lives with their medical training.
