A Murfreesboro woman who lives in the Arbor Brook Apartments on Covenant Boulevard came home one day to find a hole in her apartment floor. After calling police, it was discovered the hole was caused by a bullet.
A 40 Caliber round was lodged into the flooring. The bullet evidently came from the apartment below.
Upon speaking with the lower level resident, he told police he was trying to clear a malfunction in his gun when it accidently fired. The round hit the ceiling above his head.
A citation for firing a firearm within the city limits was then issued to Mr. DeMario Phipps. What was left of the bullet was logged into evidence for safe keeping. No one was injured.
